BIOGRAPHY

______________________________________________________________________________

Martha Joy Rose is a scholar, artist, and activist specializing in mother studies, family studies, illness, media, digital humanities, sociology, and gender. She is the founder and director of the Museum of Motherhood; an international exhibition and teaching center, which was the first and only of its kind (2011-14, NYC). She has received much press attention for her pioneering accomplishments. She is descended from the Scottish Rose clan of the thirteenth century of Kilravock whose family crest is constant and true. Ms. Rose is invested in partnerships, collaborations, and building positive intersections between the academic, the para-academic, and students of all ages. She is the feminist mother of four fascinating young adults, one of whom was a NFL draft pick in 2015.
