Aside

Oh my, how does one choose a course though? I originally signed up for FOUR classes (Which I found out is simply insane. One cannot manage a museum, fundraise, create the Mamapalooza Festival and actually survive. So greedy-me. I dropped two).

One required course helps students get a bearing on a Master’s Program. I’m taking that one with an Australian professor, David Munns. I hear he’s a funny chap, so hopefully it will be entertaining. The “How to Know, … About Knowing” is an “Introduction to the History, Sociology, and Philosophy of Science, Medicine, and Technology”.

Here you go, to my friends who have expressed interest in taking this journey with me “virtually”. Onward! Continue reading

Not So Smooth Start

I’m going to try to report on this new experience of being a “graduate student” in a fairly regular fashion here.

So far, 2014 is off to a not so smooth start. Obamacare – a great idea, BUT; I was one of the millions who lost health care coverage. Have been wrestling with Aetna obsessively to get everything lined up for approval with the Health Care office at CUNY, with pretty limited success.

I’ve now claimed a religious exemption for MMR immunizations, gone of a titer test (the results still not it), lost my primary care physician, seen a new physician, can’t find anyone to mail transplant meds., so this all might be moot anyway, and balancing work/life. Class registration is Wed. I have 43 hours to get it all straightened out! Yikes.
