Motherhood Later Interview Feature Is Up!
My first child was born when I was 32. My last, a daughter, when I was 37. I was passionately engaged in the music scene in New York City and married my husband just after filming a video for MTV. I felt the first rustlings of desire for motherhood sometime after my 30th birthday, and it was an intense stirring in my soul. Watching my body transform from dancer and performer through pregnancy was challenging. So much of my self-image was based on the way I looked, it was hard to watch my body distort itself and shift, although pregnancy agreed with me. What You Need To Know About Motherhood
It’s not the ‘How To Be A Better Parent’ book you need to read, and it’s not the latest maternity fashion you need to buy, it’s getting educated about things like ‘The Price Of Motherhood’. Sure, I’m not talking to the 1% of Hollywood Babes who never have to think about the financial realities of children (or anything for that matter) – I’m speaking to all the rest of us: Today Jocelyn Stitt writes for Mamapalooza and The Museum Of Motherhood about ‘Theories of Feminist Mothering.’ How cool is that?! Find the full article here and find the super-sweet spot in May this year in NYC when a bunch of us (I’m talking hundreds) of cool mamas from around the globe challenge our minds and our courage! Here’s the scoop. You want to be HERE: M.O.M. Conference l MAMA Expo May 23-25 with events around NYC the preceding weekend.
